Updated Monday, June 22nd

  • We will now have 2 designated Entrance Doors and 1 designated Exit Door.  We ask that ALL dancers arrive no later than 10 minutes before the start of your class in order to allow enough time for the new welcoming procedures.  Arriving late or even on time for your class start time will be disruptive to the teacher and the class that has already begun.  While entering or exiting the building, please make sure to respect social distancing guidelines.
  • There will be an ADWV staff member at each Entrance Door who will take each dancer’s temperature, ask a few simple health questions of either the dancer or the parent if the dancer is young, help dancers put on their dance shoes, collect any belongings that need to be stored while your dancer takes class, provide each dancer with hand sanitizer and wipes for shoes, and escort each dancer to their designated dance space within their studio.
  • We ask that all dancers arrive in their dance attire ready to dance with a pair of outside shoes on their feet.  Dancers will not be permitted to walk in the studio barefoot or already wearing their dance shoes.
  • Please make sure that all dance clothes are clean and have not been worn anywhere since it was last washed.  We are asking our dancers to please refrain from wearing multiple layers of clothes and/or cover-ups.
  • We are also asking dancers to only bring what is absolutely necessary for your class time and to not bring dance bags at all if possible.  In other words, unless your dancer is here for multiple hours in a row of classes or camps, please do not bring a dance bag.  If your dancer will be with us for multiple hours, please only bring what is absolutely necessary including your dance shoes, maybe a cell phone, maybe a non-perishable snack, and a pre-filled water bottle.
  • Our water fountain will NOT be available to dancers at this time.
  • Please note that our lobby will not be open to parents.  This means that only dancers, staff, and faculty will be permitted in the building.  No one will be congregating or waiting in our lobbies or halls and parents may either wait in their car or return at the proper pickup time.  Parents are encouraged to sign in to Zoom in order to observe their dancer in class.
  • Each studio will have the floor marked into square dance spaces allowing for dancers to remain within their own individual space and 6 feet from the next dancer.  There will also be an individually assigned spaces for any belongings, lunch boxes, water bottles and/or crafts each dancer will have.
  • There will never be more than 10 dancers, 1 teacher, and 2 assistants in each class/camp.  Exercises, activities, and choreography will be altered to ensure that dancers may maintain a safe distance apart.
  • Teachers and staff will be wearing a mask and/or shield while interacting with dancers.  Please note that since dance is a physical art and safety is imperative in our training, there will be times that our teachers will be in physical contact with your dancers in order to safely spot, correct, and/or assist.  By registering for our classes or camps, you are agreeing to allow our teachers to physically assist your dancer when necessary.  All faculty and staff will be subject to the same series of health questions, temperature checks, and sanitation processes before they will be permitted to work and we have asked each of them to get tested for COVID-19 every two weeks in order to teach at the studio.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available in each room and classes will end or start 5 minutes early/late in order to accommodate time to wash hands or use the restroom in a socially distant manner.
  • Masks/Sheilds will be optional but encouraged for dancers over the age of 7.  Studios and commonly used areas/surfaces will be sanitized between each group of dancers with cleaning products and/or UV sanitation wands.
  • For our dance camps, each dancer will have their own box of craft supplies and will not be sharing with other dancers.  Props, crafts, or equipment used during classes or camps will be assigned to each dancer and only ever touched by that dancer.   At the end of your dancer’s class/camp day, all dancer belongings must be taken home.  No personal belongings may be left at the studio and we will not be keeping a lost & found during this time.  The only items permitted to be left overnight will be the craft boxes given to each dance camp goer by the studio.  These craft boxes will be taken home on the final day of camp each week.
  • At the end of each class or camp day, dancers will be asked to sanitize or wash their hands before being dismissed, one at a time, through the designated exit door.  Please be sure to be prompt when picking up your dancer so that we may complete our cleaning procedures in time to welcome our next group of dancers into the studio.

Hello wonderful ADWV families,

We hope you are all hanging in there during this difficult time.  ADWV will remain closed and are hoping to re-open when the Shelter In Place Order lifts on Friday, May 15th.  Please note that, ALL ACCOUNTS HAVE BEEN PUT ON HOLD until we re-open the studio.

We know that schools have decided to continue distance learning throughout the remainder of the semester, but we are still hopeful that we will be able to finish out our season as planned.  This includes Photo days, Dress Rehearsals, and, most importantly, our Annual Performance that we know ALL of us are so looking forward to. Of course, we will only go through with these plans if it is safe for everyone and we have state/government approval to do so.  If anything changes, we will notify all of you through email.

In other news, our Online Virtual Class Program has gotten off to an incredible start.  All of the details for classes, meeting IDs and passwords are in your weekly emails.  If you aren’t receiving emails, please notify us at [email protected] as soon as possible!

We are also offering Online Private Lessons through live stream/video chat with one of our incredible faculty members! Our faculty can work on specific skills your dancer would like to improve on, clean solo/group choreography, or give a full technique private.  Online privates are open to all of our registered students, can be booked for 30 minutes or a full hour, and will be available at a discounted private rate of $30 for 30 minutes and $60 for an hour.   If you would like to book an online private lesson, please send us an email with PRIVATE LESSON – YOUR DANCER’S NAME as the subject and include in your message what your dancer would like to work on, the length of the private, your first and second choice of faculty member, and a few options of times for when you would like your private lesson.

Please bear with us as we navigate through this process and we will have more answers for you the moment we can. We truly hope you are all well.  You are all in our thoughts constantly. We know that dancing together even virtually has been such a comfort for us and we are hoping that it is for you too.

We are in absolute awe of the way all of our dancers and families have adapted to a new way of learning and the progress we’ve seen in such a short amount of time.  It has been an absolutely joy for us to experience. We miss you all and are anxiously awaiting the day when we can get back into the studio. In the meantime, stay safe, stay healthy and stay dancing! We are all getting through this together, keep up the incredible work.

Finally, we would also like to thank each and every one of our families who fall under the “essential workers” umbrella.  To all of you on the front line, thank you for keeping us safe, our families safe.  We appreciate it beyond measure.

With Love,

Jess & Meg
